Flamingos on a Mission
Got Flamingoed has been ‘painting the town pink’ since 2005. The company was originally developed as an extra income source during a change of professions that required several years of full time study, which left no room for a ‘normal’ job.
The flamingos were such a hit that we couldn’t bear to retire them upon graduation! Luckily, our kids have become ‘employed’ by the mingos and help with the late night deliveries as our ‘normal’ workday typically starts at 5 A.M. ?
As of May 1, 2008, the flamingos are on a new mission….. 15% of every flocking ordered from May 1, 2008 to May 1, 2009 will go to fund medical missions through a local organization called Next Worldwide. To learn more about Next; please check out www.nextworldwide.org. The medical mission branch of Next is still at the ground level as Amy (you can read her bio below) works to raises support and navigates the logistics of providing dental care in foreign countries. For those inclined, please keep Amy, Next and the missions and the lives that they touch in your prayers. If you would like to make direct contributions to the medical missions, please contact us (we’ll gladly take medical supplies too, even as simple as toothbrushes!).
Amy's Bio
When I was 15 years old my life was changed on a dental mission trip to Romania. As I saw hundreds of people line up for blocks to get simple dental needs taken care of, and the many dentists and hygienists that donated their time to help, I couldn't ignore the call on my life to be a part of something like this. I graduated from dental hygiene school in 2006 and that calling to go into the dental field was solidified but the calling to go into missions rose again in the fall of 2007. Next worldwide is a missions organization that mobilizes North American High schoolers and takes them all over the world to be a part of evangelism, discipleship and church planting in impoverished communities where no evangelical churches exist. The organization is expanding and they now want to incorporate dental and medical missions with their trips. This is where I come in. God has given me a passion not only for His Word but for serving those in need with a skill that he blessed me with. Our vision is to see thousands of people be exposed to the Gospel while at the same time getting their physical needs met. Please pray for our organization and the people whom we are to minister to.
